Shahid Afridi slams Indian media, criticises political influence
MNP – Former Pakistan all-rounder Shahid Khan Afridi criticised Jay Shah, asserting that Shah follows the directives of the Indian government.
Expressing his thoughts, Afridi said: “Jay Shah will do whatever the Modi government says.”
“It is Jay Shah’s responsibility to keep the Indian Prime Minister happy,” said Afridi.
Afridi has sharply criticised Indian media, adding that it exerts a negative influence on both cricket and society.
“Bollywood is part of the Indian media,” Afridi remarked, highlighting its substantial role in shaping public opinion.
He also accused the media of manipulating narratives, stating, “They kill the living, bring the dead back to life.”
Reflecting on past experiences, Afridi recalled the tense 1999 tour of India, when the Pakistan team faced violence in Bangalore. “The Pakistan team were stoned in Bangalore during the 1999 tour of India,” Afridi said.
He recalled the challenges the Pakistan cricket team faced on foreign soil. He said that there were numerous threats directed at the Pakistan team while they were in India.
