Apex committee meeting to review anti-terrorism measures rescheduled
MNP – The meeting of the Apex Committee of the National Action Plan (NAP) originally scheduled for today has been rescheduled.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif who was set to chair the crucial session, had to reschedule the meeting due to other pressing commitments. However, the meeting has now been rescheduled and will take place tomorrow.
The session was convened to review the progress of the National Action Plan on Anti-Terrorism and was expected to bring together top civil and military leadership, federal ministers, as well as the chief ministers and chief secretaries of all four provinces.
The primary focus of the meeting was to assess the current security situation across the country, particularly in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, where incidents of terrorism have been on the rise.
In addition to reviewing the implementation of NAP, the meeting was set to discuss improving coordination between provincial and federal authorities and enhancing intelligence-sharing mechanisms.
