Wahab Riaz presides over a high-profile online meeting to give final shape to Annual Sports Calendar activities

LAHORE (MNP) Adviser to Chief Minister Punjab on Sports and Youth Affairs Wahab Riaz presided over a high-profile online meeting at National Hockey Stadium on Tuesday.
The top-level meeting was convened to give final shape to Annual Sports Calendar activities besides making some amendments in Annual Sports Calendar events and discussing key features of Club Registration programme.
Director General Sports Punjab Dr Asif Tufail, Director Sports Yasmeen Akhtar, Director Youth Affairs Rana Nadeem Anjum, Vice-President Pakistan Wrestling Federation (PWF) Arshad Sattar, Deputy Director Ataur Rahman and all Divisional Sports Officers of the province attended the meeting in person except a few, who participated in the meeting through video link.
Addressing the meeting, Adviser to Chief Minister Punjab on Sports and Youth Affairs Wahab Riaz said that after a meticulous hard work, the events and activities of Punjab’s historic Annual Sports Calendar have been finalized. “Annual Sports Calendar is being sent to the Punjab Cabinet for approval and after approval it will be implemented in letter and spirit,” he added.
Adviser to Chief Minister Punjab on Sports and Youth Affairs Wahab Riaz said that the Youth Affairs Department Punjab will also organize Spring Games and Summer Games after the completion of ongoing Winter Games under the umbrella of Rising Punjab Games. “Rising Punjab Games is the first event under SBP’s Annual Sports Calendar Programme. We are also going to organise Rustam-e-Punjab Dangal on February 4 in which all leading wrestlers of Punjab will participate and in total a prize money of Rs 26 lakhs will be distributed among the top position holders,” he explained.
