Second January Home Match Day Promises Big T20 Action as ACES & HEARTS Reach Crucial Juncture
NewZealand (MNP) If the crowd sizes at Kennards Hire Community Oval on Monday were any indication, there’s plenty of hunger for Super Smash action in Auckland and this Sunday gives another opportunity for the ACES & HEARTS to entertain a bumper local crowd.
Tomorrow’s matches mark the half way point in the competition and there is plenty of motivation from both teams to grabs wins that would go a long way towards helping them crack into the top three as the Super Smash enters its second half.
Another motivating factor may be the opposition. Canterbury and Auckland enjoy one of the most competitive rivalries in New Zealand domestic cricket and their close positions on the table make for a juicy matchup come Sunday.
The HEARTS sit at 4th place after their Bella Armstrong-inspired win over the Central Hinds on Monday, two spots behind the Magicians.
They make one change for tomorrow’s match with wicketkeeper Sarah Carnachan returning for Monday’s debutant Elizabeth Buchanan.
A win tomorrow could see the HEARTS usurp Otago Sparks in third place.
Meanwhile the ACES sit at 5th on the table, one position above Canterbury Kings, who they beat on Boxing Day at Hagley Oval.
The ACES will make no changes for tomorrow’s match from the tight loss to the Stags with Ben Lister still sitting out with an ankle injury.
The HEARTS will kick off proceedings vs. The Magicians at 11:00am with the ACES vs. Kings match starting at 2:40pm. Both games are live on Spark Sport.
