Meta all set to restore Messenger chat features in Facebook app
(MNP) – Meta’s online social networking site Facebook upset millions upon millions of users five years ago when it removed chat from its core mobile app and forced them to download Messenger to communicate privately with friends. Now it looks like it might be able to restore the option inside the Facebook app.
Facebook was the start of it all. The first social media app, the first of its kind, and as expected it took the world to storm. So much so that the app is still widely in use to this day even though many others like Snapchat, Instagram and TikTok are already here. It was the first social media app with in-app chatting and was also the first without it.
The screenshots shared by the tech experts on Twitter, the user will have to swipe from the right side of the screen to access the chats without being redirected to the messenger app. Not to mention, this feature as of now is available to selected users only. The selected users who swiped would then see another screen, which would invite them to test the latest Facebook chat experience.
This is a great feature as it will enable users to be able to text and check their messages without ever needing to leave the app. Another benefit of this feature is that it will allow users to use less space on their phones with just one app rather than two different ones.
