KP cabinet declares emergency in Kurram and Khyber

MNP – The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) provincial cabinet approved a state of emergency in the districts of Kurram and Khyber due to the prevailing security situation.
In the 19th cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Ali Amin Khan Gandapur, measures were also approved to seize properties of individuals involved in money laundering and terror financing and to establish a new girls cadet college in Dera Ismail Khan.
Addressing the cabinet, CM Gandapur claimed that the conflict in Kurram was not a case of terrorism but a clash between two groups. He expressed concern over the spread of sectarian hatred, accusing certain elements of fabricating false narratives to escalate tensions.
“The people of the area want peace, but some elements are trying to spoil the situation through sectarian hatred,” he remarked, adding that these elements are creating false narratives to distort the issue.
