Madressa registration bill: JUI-F seeks PTI’s help in legislation
MNP – Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) Senator Kamran Murtaza held a meeting with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader and former speaker of the National Assembly, Asad Qaiser, to discuss issues surrounding the Societies Registration Amendment Bill and bilateral cooperation on political issues.
During the meeting, Senator Kamran Murtaza sought PTI’s support in drafting legislation for religious seminaries in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, emphasizing the need for the KP Assembly to also legislate regarding religious madrassas.
The senator said the JUI would also talk to the political leadership of Punjab, Sindh, and Balochistan for legislation. He highlighted that the scope of the bill passed by the Center would be limited to Islamabad, requiring provincial assemblies, including those of Punjab, Sindh, Balochistan, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, to legislate on the matter independently.
