Apple might surprise with iPhone 17 Air as its slimmest smartphone yet

MNP – Apple to release its thinnest iPhone ever, the iPhone 17 Air, by 2025. The smartphone is expected to be around 5mm to 6mm in thickness and will be a very minimalist design that prioritizes slim dimensions over features.

It will have a single rear camera with a 48-megapixel sensor and a front camera of 24 megapixels. The device will be available in an ultra-sleek profile, without a physical SIM card tray, by only using eSIM technology.

Other space-saving measures include the removal of bottom-edge speaker, meaning but one speaker will be in the earpiece. Other reports stated that iPhone 17 Air would employ its Apple-designed 5G modem. Support for mmWave 5G might be left behind by it, which could further downgrade data rates.

The battery capacity with the thin design will automatically reduce, and it should affect the life of the battery of the phone. However, it will provide a 6.6-inch Dynamic Island display, an A19 chip for better performance, and 8GB of RAM to run multiple applications in the device. The frames are made of lightweight aluminum which makes them durable and portable.
