Supreme Court’s full court approves Justice Mansoor’s plan for expedited case disposal
MNP – Supreme Court of Pakistan’s full court meeting chaired by newly appointed Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Yahya Afridi on Monday approved a proposal by Senior Judge Justice Mansoor Ali Shah for the expedited disposal of pending cases.
The session, which took place with all available judges present, included a virtual participation by Justice Mansoor Ali Shah.
According to a statement released by the court, Justice Mansoor proposed a structured approach to expedite case disposals, suggesting a phased plan of one month, three months, and six months for the efficient handling of cases.
Currently, a staggering 59,191 cases remain pending in the Supreme Court, highlighting the urgent need for effective case management.
The Chief Justice expressed gratitude to the judges for their commitment to implementing the proposed case management plan, which will incorporate information technology to enhance efficiency.
