Historic Jirga held in Balochistan to address women’s issues
MNP – For the first time in the history of Balochistan, a jirga has been organized by the district administration to listen to women’s issues.
The jirga was held in the Awaran district, organized by Deputy Commissioner Engineer Ayesha Zahri, where lady doctors, female teachers, female college students, and women councillors actively participated.
During the event, participants presented recommendations to empower women through the establishment of vocational training and embroidery centres.
They also raised concerns regarding the shortage of furniture and teachers in girl colleges, as well as the need for buses for female students, with assurances given for their prompt implementation.
