Experts continue to deliver insightful lectures on the second day of online training
LAHORE (MNP) Experts continued to deliver insightful lectures on the second day of a three-day online training workshop for coaches being held under the directives of Director General Sports Punjab Dr Asif Tufail at the National Hockey Stadium on Wednesday.
Deputy Director Sports Chand Parveen, senior provincial coach Shaista Qaiser, former international female hockey player Sehrish Ghumman, senior weightlifting official Hafiz Imran Butt and Shahzad attended the workshop in person.
The online training workshop will continue till October 19. Deputy Director Chand Perveen is performing as coordinator for the smooth organisation of online training workshop.
Assistant Professor of Orthopedics at Jinnah Hospital Dr Amir Sohail and FIH Academy expert trainer Zahid Ali gave lectures on the second day of an online training workshop being organized to enhance the knowledge and awareness of coaches belonging to diverse games.
Apart from male and female coaches of Sports Board Punjab, Directorate General Sports Punjab and Punjab Olympic Associations, several private coaches also participated in the online training workshop.
Assistant Professor of Orthopedics at Jinnah Hospital Dr Amir Sohail delivered an online lecture about sports injuries, their prevention and management. He explained sports injuries and various precautionary measures during the online training workshop.
Dr Amir Sohail told the participants about how to prevent an injury in sports and its serious consequences. “Through better management and timely response we can reduce the seriousness of a sports injury. A proper knowledge and awareness played a key role in a better management of injury,” he added.
Dr Amir Sohail also threw light on the importance of nutrition of players. He said the athletes of different games require different kinds of nutrition and food. “Right food for the right player also played an important part in minimizing the possibility of an injury,” he explained.
