SJAL #delegation calls on Director General Sports #Punjab
LAHORE (MNP) A delegation of Sports Journalists Association of Lahore (SJAL) called on Director General Sports Punjab Dr Asif Tufail at his office at National Hockey Stadium on Wednesday.
The SJAL delegation consisted of President SJAL Aqeel Ahmed, Secretary Ashraf Ch, senior journalists Muhammad Yaqoob, Ihtashamul Haq, Yousaf Anjum and Hafiz Shahbaz.
Talking to the SJAL delegation, Director General Sports Punjab Dr Asif Tufail said that Sports Board Punjab is taking all possible measures for the promotion of sports across the province. “These days we are conducting Summer camps of 14 games in which thousands of boys and girls of U-8 and U-14 age groups are taking part quite passionately,” he added.
Director General Sports Punjab Dr Asif Tufail informed that the competitions will be organized among the top performers of summer camps from August 1 to 10. “The top performers of summer camps will be further trained in an advanced training camp to prepare these young athletes for national level sports competitions”.
He said that expert coaches are imparting training to camp probables at the summer camps. “These camps will play a key role in the growth of games culture among the younger generation. The participation of thousands of young players in summer camps reflected the immense craze of sports among our youth,” he added.
The SJAL delegation appreciated the effective steps taken by Director General Sports Punjab Dr Asif Tufail for the growth of sports among the younger generation.
