Wahab Riaz accompanied and Shahid Zaman and Director General Sports Punjab Dr Asif Tufail visit Mini Hockey Stadium Arrangements
LAHORE (MNP) Adviser to Chief Minister Punjab on Sports and Youth Affairs Wahab Riaz accompanied by Secretary Sports and Youth Affairs Punjab Shahid Zaman and Director General Sports Punjab Dr Asif Tufail visited Mini Hockey Stadium, the venue of Ramzan Sports Series inaugural ceremony, to inspect the arrangements on Thursday.
Adviser to Chief Minister Punjab on Sports and Youth Affairs Wahab Riaz said that the arrangements of First Ramzan Sports Series 2023 have been completed and all the competitions will be organized in a befitting manner. He said this while presiding over an important meeting at the National Hockey Stadium on Thursday. The important meeting was convened to review preparations of First Ramzan Sports Series 2023.
Secretary Sports and Youth Affairs Punjab Shahid Zaman, Director General Sports Punjab Dr Asif Tufail, former DG Sports Punjab Tariq Qureshi, Director Youth Affairs Syed Umair Hassan and other officials were present in the key meeting.
It may be noted here that the First Ramzan Sports Series 2023 will be organized from April 7 to 11, 2023 on the directions of Punjab Caretaker Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi. The teams from all divisions will participate in the competitions of hockey, football, kabaddi, badminton and table tennis whereas 12 teams of Lahore cricket clubs will compete in the tape ball cricket event during Ramzan Sports Series.
Addressing the meeting, Adviser to Chief Minister Punjab on Sports and Youth Affairs Wahab Riaz said that First Ramzan Sports Series 2023 is being organized for the first time in the history of Punjab province. “New talent will emerge from the Ramzan Sports Series. A huge amount has been allocated for the prize money to be given to all prominent performers of the grand event,” he added.
Adviser to Chief Minister Punjab on Sports and Youth Affairs Wahab Riaz said that the grand opening ceremony of First Ramzan Sports Series 2023 will be organized at Mini Hockey Stadium.
Secretary Sports and Youth Affairs Punjab Shahid Zaman on this occasion said that Ramzan Sports Series will provide a suitable platform to young talented players of the province to demonstrate their talent in the above mentioned games.
Secretary Sports and Youth Affairs Punjab Shahid Zaman said that holding night sports events in Ramzan is our tradition. “Definitely the grand event of Ramzan Sports Series will help a lot in the promotion of sports culture”.
Director General Sports Punjab Dr Asif Tufail said that the teams from all nine divisions have started arriving in Nishtar Park Sports Complex to partake in First Ramzan Sports Series competitions. “The best arrangements have been made for the grand Ramzan Sports Series,” he added.
“Excellent arrangements have been made for the Ramazan Sports Series events and all participating teams will be provided with the best facilities during the 5-day Ramazan Sports Series”.
