Construction sector is mother of all industries: Kashif Anwar
Lahore (MNP) While terming the construction sector the mother of all industries, President of the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry Kashif Anwar has hoped that Ravi Urban Development Project will play a crucial role in promoting business and economic activities.
He was talking to the Executive Director Commercial of Ravi Urban Development Authority (RUDA) Kashif Qureshi at the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Manager Investors Relations, Ravi Urban Development Authority Sumaira Malik also spoke on the occasion.
The LCCI President said that the economy cannot grow unless the construction sector works. He said that there are many industries directly or indirectly associated with the construction sector. He said that if the economy is in trouble, large construction projects should be started as they boost the trade and economic activities.
Kashif Anwar said that 32 thousand members of the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry are unaware of various information about the project and also the industries that are expected to be relocated due to this mega project. He said that awareness should be given to the LCCI members. He said that genuine reservations of the stakeholders should be addressed on priority. He said that the investment opportunities should be provided to the members and staff of the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry in the project.
“The markets have to be connected with the fields by building motorways”, the LCCI President said and added that to resolve economic and social problems, new cities have to be established.
The LCCI President also appointed focal persons to ensure a strong liaison with Ravi Urban Development Authority.
He said that Ravi Urban Development Project is of great importance as it will give immense boost to the real estate and construction industry.
On the occasion, Executive Director of Ravi Urban Development Authority (RUDA) Kashif Qureshi gave a detailed presentation about the project and also agreed with the LCCI President to provide investment opportunities for LCCI members and staff.
He informed the LCCI President that Ravi Development Authority has come into existence by virtue of an Act of parliament in July 2020 to develop a sustainable green city with modern technologies to preserve nature and build new land marks for the country to attract tourists, investors and enhance urban housing in planned manner.
About Ravi Urban Development Project, he said that it is a 46-kilometer long riverfront city with a total area of 110,604 acres that will be developed for 10 million residents. The project is to be completed in 3 phases and expected to be the largest riverfront in the world when finished.
